Sheik (Currently Feros.)
Sheik are the most dominant wolves of the pack. These wolves are usually the best fighters in the pack, and know how to lead. These are the big decision makers of the pack, always having final say in a decision or idea handed up from the Magnates or Premin. These Wolves know what goes on between members of the pack and have the ability to accept alliances from other packs. It is their duty to do what is best for the pack. This includes hearing the opinions of all the others and making a decision weighing up every possible option for which is best. They usually decide what goes on at any given time in a pack: hunting, exploring, meetings, etc. These two are the most responsible and reliable wolves of the pack. The Sheik can demote any pack member from their position, or give orders to any pack member other than the Foregone.
Cruce
These wolves are retired Sheik. The Cruce are placed in the position after losing a spar, or becoming too old to maintain their position. These are probably the most respected wolves in the pack, and young, new Sheik often seek advice from these Wolves. The Cruce have spent almost their entire lives within the pack, and know everything there is to know about it. One could consider them the rank above Sheik, if such were to exist. Only the Sheik can place someone not of former Sheik rank here.
Magnates
The Magnate in a wolf pack play a very similar role as the Sheik. They are looked upon as the second-wing command of the pack, barking out the Sheik’s orders to the rest of the pack, and enforcing rules to mischievous wolves. They are able to make decisions, with permission from the Sheik, and take in ideas from the pack members. They answer only to the leaders of the pack. These wolves are highly respected and dominant over all but lead ranks, Premin and the Cruce. Only Two wolves can hold this rank.
Premin
Premin are the third-wing command of the pack. Serving only under the Sheik, these Wolves are only slightly lower rank than the Magnates, and hold almost equal power to them. Premin are able to process ideas to the Magnates and Sheik, and their main job is to ensure that the pack get their say in what happens within themselves. They take information from the Matreyors should the Sheik not be around, and pass it on to them when they are. Premin are highly respected, and are rare within the pack. Three Wolves can hold the position of Premin.
Matreyors
The Matreyors of the pack are usually the oldest and wisest bunch of wolves. They are usually unable to fight, and are normally just retired wolves reaching the end of their lives. Henceforth, it is their job to collect the lores and stories that pass down through the pack, and tell them back to the whelps so that the names of the Cruce may live on in the hearts of pack members. These wolves take orders only from the Sheik, Magnates and Premin, and are considered the most loyal wolves of the pack.
Concierge (S)
Master of herbs, this wolf knows how to heal. He or She serves directly under the Sheik, and leads the Shamans, mentoring newcomers and showing them the ropes of Shamanism. This wolf is also the personal healer of the Sheik, tending their wounds after a fight or an accident, and helping the Sheik to recover from sickness. This wolf is wise, and also knows how to fight. He/She is never to be underestimated, and is respected by all members for their abilities of quick thinking and vast knowledge of herbs.
Shamans (S)
These Wolves are the highest ranking and most respected wolves of the four main ranks. It is their job to keep the pack in good health and ensure that wolves don’t fall ill. They are experts of the medical side of the Pack, often working with herbs or calling for help from the Gods. These wolves need to know what they’re doing in a situation, and need to be able to hold their own in a fight. Though it may not seem apt, Shamans can be sent out during a war to fight, or bring back wounded or dead wolves from the battlefield.
Propon
This Wolf is considered the Reaper of the pack. He or She leads the Sentinels into battle, and is always the first to step into a fight. Loyal, strong, and literally, born to kill, this wolf brings swift wings to almost any foe that stands up against the Sheik or Magnates. These wolves serve directly under the Sheik, and are most often called upon by them to guard them from possible threats during times of peace. These Wolves have the strongest scent besides that of the Sheik and the Magnates.
Sentinels (S)
Sentinels are the fighters of the pack. They ensure the safety of the entire pack, along with the Precursors, and are sometimes called to be bodyguards for the Sheik themselves. Sentinels are usually large wolves with strong, muscular builds. Born to fight and endure extreme pain, Sentinels are formidable opponents in battle, and should not be underestimated in a spar or fight. These wolves have a strong scent and can also double as guards, patrolling the borders for loners or threats to the pack.
Hawker (S)
The Hawker is the lead Chaser. He or She is the most agile wolf in the pack, and they are looked up upon by their subordinates and respected by the Sheik. Their job is to lead the Chasers through the hunt, coordinating them and barking out orders to ensure that the job gets done as quickly and efficiently as possible. These serve directly under the Sheik.
Chasers (S)
The Chasers are the Hunters of the pack. These wolves have been given the job of finding food for the pack. They are a low rank to have, but are highly respected by all pack members, as they play a vital role in keeping the pack alive and healthy. Chasers are able to mentor other pack members in the ways of hunting, allowing pack members to hunt for themselves should they be left behind unintentionally and wandering for days on end.
Reconnoit (S)
This wolf is the lead Precursor. It s his/her job to make sure that they are doing their own jobs, and to a high standard. This wolf serves directly under the Sheik, and have rights to demote any Precursor who he or she considers to be doing a bad job.
Precursors (S)
Precursors are considered the Scouts of the pack. It is their job to ensure that the pack members don’t wander into dangerous territory, informing the pack of danger areas and hotspots for fights. These wolves also play the role of Spies in the pack, and can be sent out to investigate enemy territory or checking for danger during a hunt. They are fast and inconspicuous, rarely ever encountering fights, and often avoiding danger by a hair’s-breadth. There’s no doubt that these wolves live on the edge of life.
Nurturers
These wolves are the caretakers of the pack. It is their job to ensure that the Whelps of the pack grow into strong, capable Wolves. They risk their all to keep the vulnerable pups safe, and are willing to sacrifice themselves to keep the Whelps alive at any point. These are low rankers, but they are usually skilled at hunting and fighting, both vital to guiding wolves through pup-hood. These Wolves serve only under the Sheik, Magnates and Premin of the pack.
Monotes (S)
These are your average common ranked Wolves. These Wolves have been demoted from high positions after losing a spar, or have been deemed undecided by the Sheik as to what rank they will uphold.
Depraves (S)
Depraves are the lowest ranking adult wolves. These are wolves who have been punished by the Sheik, have lost a spar for ranks, or simply choose to be. These wolves have the hardest lives in the pack, playing jester during times of tension, and risking their lives to keep the pack safe. This comes with rewards from the Magnates, such as high quality meat during mealtime, but it is rare for a wolf to freely choose the rank. Depraves constantly get looked down upon by the higher ranks, and are only slightly higher rank than pups.
Whelps
Whelps are the children of the pack. They are normally from the higher bloodlines of the Sheik or Magnates, but they can be spawned of any rank besides Depraves. A Whelp remains in this rank until they reach the age of one year, and then are able to choose their own rank (Given that they are deemed suitable by the Sheik). Whelps can be born into the pack or simply wanderers who have been adopted by one of the members, and the adults take kindly to them.
Foregone
The Foregone are Wolves have died and returned as Spirits, non-visible and non-audible to all but a select few individuals, usually one of their offspring or siblings. These Wolves are respected by all for being those who have surpassed even death. However, this comes with a foul curse. These are wolves who cannot or have not passed on, and have been left on Earth in eternal torment as punishment for their sins, or simply have a task they must complete before they are allowed into heaven. Very few Wolves have ever become a Foregone and simply pass on. On very rare occasions, a wolf may be gifted with the ability of eternal life on earth, and as such are usually worshipped. Wolves such as Fenrir himself were rumoured to have been Foregone.
Vanquished
These are Exiles of the pack. For whatever reason, they have been banished from the lands.
Please Note
Magnates, Premin, Cruce, Matreyors, Foregone and all Lead Positions (Concierge, Propon, Hawker and Reconnoit) cannot be applied for. They must be given the Rank by one or both Sheik (Giving Rank is chosen dependant on the performance of the Lower Rank, For example, you are liable for Reconnoit if you perform your duties well enough as a Precursor.)
