Lacera Daggersbane's footsteps fell with a fairly soft thump, her head lowered and eyes casted toward the ground. Once she hit the edge of the river that twisted throughout the cavern, she glanced to the land across from her. She sought the signs of Weyuri feet or claw marks in the ground, a sign that someone had entered recently. Possibly the marks of her brother Chendreth if he still lived, returning to this place out of memory and seeking those he had lost. But no such score existed and she sighed, climbing out of the water and shaking what little had gotten on her fur out. "Where are you, little brother," she murmured, first wandering to the cluster of stumps to the far left and the perches she and her siblings used to use for practice flight. Tenderly she placed the palm of her hand against the wood, closing her eyes and sighing softly. So much here, so much that was lost, Dwelling in memory, she snapped back to reality when she heard the faint sound of talons against bark. Lips drawing back, daggers in hands, she slowly crept over and around the rocks, coming to lie low on the one closest to the source of the sound. Peering from her place, she stifled a snort of shock upon seeing Auwryn. Why was she here? "What the hell are you doing here, Auwryn?"
Auwryn. Female would sigh. Scratching talons against the bark, thoughts would flow gently. This brings back a few memories, indeed. Capitulum would snap upwards as voice was registered. It was Lacera, the Albino Female. Slight surprise caught her off guard. "One could ask thee such a question, Lacera." Pushing against front limbs, Female moved to a seating. Seemingly Gazeless eyes screamed memory, yet she'd mask it, for now. "If thou doth wonder, I come here out of memory." A pause would ensue, before adding. "One used to play here as a young child. After passing by on the hunt, I decided it would be most invigorating to spend a while thinking." Gaze would remain on the female, yet, capitulum cocked. "Strange. Thou doth remind one of an old friend of whom once resided here. Haven't laid eyes upon them for many a year, now." Gaze would avert to her talons. good, it's not damaged. Hiding her treasure, female would belay gaze 'pon the other once more.
Lacera Daggersbane's brow furrowed in momentary confusion. She came here out of memory? She wasn't fully capable of understanding. Only her family and few Seyuri and Feyuri were allowed inside and around the cavern, those they trusted with their lives. Lacera considered Auwryn far too old to have been amongst those that she had played with. "I come here every day," she replied, sheathing her daggers and leaping down from her perch. Moving over to the fur rugs lying near the Feyur's stump, she slowly sat down and got comfortable. They were still intact since they were from the Wylvi she had skinned not too long ago, when she sought revenge against those who had slaughtered her family. "I always return to see if my brother ever came back. I never found his body amongst my sisters or my other brother, so I always assumed he escaped." For reasons unknown to her she felt even more comfortable around Auwryn in this place. She felt that she could be trusted, even though she still kept herself wary of their surroundings. "Out of memory and kids playing, huh?"
Auwryn. Female would cock capitulum once more. A brother? After listening to the words, reply would ensue after Lacera's ended. "Yes. If thou doth know her, she also had a brother. This one did not meet him much, yet she spoke of him." Chewing 'pon the wood out of boredom, female would begin to craft an arrow-shaped hole, of which treasure would eventually sit. She would leave this as a gift for her old friend. "If one's memories do not fail her, his name was... Chendreth, one thinks..." Memories would flash before her, a moment's pause as female would relay them in her mind, before answering her question. "Yes, she'd used to mention him many times. Doth thou know him, Lacera?" Gaze would belay upon the Alabaster female in questioning. The brother of this old friend was a Weyuri, afterall.
Lacera Daggersbane peered at Auwryn in disbelief, claws digging into the furs. While bothered by the fact she had somehow known them, she was also excited. Perhaps she had seen him recently or run across him while wandering the lands. He would have been easy enough to spot and associate with her since he, too, was winged and scaled much like herself. "Yes! Chendreth, the second oldest; just below me. Have you seen or met him recently?" While suspicion still rang true, hope had carved its own place within her mind. Maybe she would finally be able to see him, learn how he had grown into an adult and discover who he had become. Moderately excited, she leapt up from the furs and began to pace, murmuring under her breath. Perhaps he was like herself? Or better yet, maybe he hadn't been tainted by the Weyuri or was held in refuge by the Feyuri and Seyuri that had helped them in the beginning. So many thoughts came to mind and whirled about, a slight grin masking her muzzle. Oh, dear Chendreth...
Auwryn. Female would sigh as thoughts made the Alabaster female's words unclear. Slow to register, female would reply. "One has not seen him for many a year, since she disapp- Wait, did one just speak of him being below thineself in age?" Gaze would focus slightly at the female, almost as if she were trying to delve into memory for any signs of prior recognition. A moments silence, slightly shocked face 'pon her features, before a single word would emit. "... Anxo?" Female would wander up t'ward the other, as if they'd never met before. Investigating, female would look for any telltale signs, before smiling, a moment's pause adding before laughter would ensue, wings rustling in joy. "It is you!" Excitement at the long lost reunion would confuse female. She had not dwelled much 'pon her past, and questions would come spewing from maw. "We have much to speak of! How are you? Where have you been? What have you been doing these many years?" Moods would differentiate at each question, first Curiosity, then worry, and then back to curiosity again as female desired to catch up to the present.
Lacera Daggersbane stared blankly when she heard that he hadn't been seen in forever. Sorrow was her first emotion, then anger. She struck the rock closest to her with an open palm, the scales and pads rubbing uncomfortably against the stone. Exhaling slowly, she drew her hand away and turned back to Auwryn, finding her bubbling over with excitement. At first she couldn't match the Feyur's joy, but as soon as she called her by her old nickname--Anxo--she paused. Brow wrinkled, maw parted, and then it all came together. Was this truly the one she had always played with when she was a child? The one she had been out with on the day of her families murder? She laughed and shook her head, bitter irony at first keeping her from saying anything. Then she spoke. "If I hadn't been out with you that day, I would be dead like the rest of them." She fell onto the furred rugs, rubbing her muzzle and exhaling slowly. "I could ask you the same," she murmured. "I've been everywhere, doing everything. Being bent on revenge tends to take you everywhere." She grimaced. "What did you hear after you left that night? Why hadn't you returned in so long?" If the Feyur had, she would have discovered the bodies of her family and the Wylvi. Perhaps it was fortunate she hadn't come back then and the bodies were instead left to rot. Though after the years had passed and the flesh had decayed and gone, she buried the bones and planted a seed for each of her siblings and parents. Life rising and growing from death. The stump the Feyur currently sat upon had grown from the body of her sister Eyria.
Auwryn. Giving up on the resting place for the arrow, female would hide it for now behind long tail. Sighing, she'd speak. "One had to bury her parents. I'd left on the hunt just a few days after, and found one's own parents. Apologies, Lacera. One could not go back to the old ways, and decided it necessary to learn more the ways and secrets that Imbrogli holds with strength. Thou hath made thineself a most successful domain, however. Old friend, thou hath become the most reveared Weyuri of this era!" Female would smile, gaze averting to right frontal as limb appeared from behind the tail. Lifting it, she'd offer it in an open hand. "I'd made this in hopes of laying it here. One doth had desire to leave it for mine old friend to find. Now, she comes here, and One hands thee this gift. It belong to thee now, Lacera." In her hand was a most beautiful sight. A decorative Arrow, most beautifully crafted. Shaft of a most beaufitul Redwood Cedar, lined with the flights; The feathers from her own wing itsself; a rarity indeed. Though, 'twas not the feathers that made it such a gift. Upon the shaft, sat a head of a most rare stone. Blue Obsidian, it's beauty glinting in the cave as light reflected through. She'd crafted it from one of her beads. Such a stone had only been sighted once in her lifetime, and it was then that her parents had crafted the beads for her. Handing one down to anyone, even an old friend, was a rarity to be cherished and considered special.
Lacera Daggersbane kept quiet, find nothing to say. A momentary guilt for acting so rudely in light of it being that Auwryn's own family had been murdered, but it was quickly banished. Now anger replaced it, circulating through her veins, even as a mask of calm washed over her features. "I see," she murmured softly, looking at the arrow that Auwryn held out toward her. It truly was a thing of beauty, appearing to have been crafted by the most masterful of Weyuri; something that would have taken any ages to create. Doubly so with such rare materials donning its length and the fact that the Feyur had even included literal pieces of herself. Lacera shook her head and rose to her feet, brushing the grass and leaves that had gathered in her fur as she had paced and repeatedly seated herself. "I'm not going to take that," she murmured, closing her eyes and turning away. She took several steps. "I won't until I feel that I deserve it." Tossing a look over her shoulder, she stared directly at the Feyur. "Please don't try and force me to take it. I'll find you or where you've left it once I feel that time has come. But for now?" She returned her gaze to the path in front of her, starting to walk away. Once she exited the cave, she fully intended to take the skies and fly elsewhere; somewhere away from old memories, old friends and allies; somewhere that she could be alone. "Keep it. Leave it where you wish. Just don't come for me, Auwryn."
Auwryn. Female would blink somewhat, surprised as the female still denied that which was destined to be. Sighing, gaze would avert to the arrow in hand. Anger would seeth, yet masked until the female had exited the den. As the Weyur's feet left the ground, hers hit the trunk simultaneously, tears welling up. She'd wanted to crush the arrow in her hands for ever thinking it stupid enough to take the time to create, but had an affinity for it. Lacera was going to have posession of this item. Female had poured her soul and being into making this for Anxo, and wasn't about to destroy it. She'd keep a promise not to force the female into keeping it, though. Exiting the cave, female would give a final shout as the female took off. "When thine be-eth ready, and only then, Lacera Daggersbane!" Unfolding wings, she'd leave the place herself, tears falling steadily as she still held on to the precious gift.
